2010 Mite Major Head Coach

Meet the 2010 Mite Major Head Coach

Bobby Acropolis joins NorthStars this season with a remarkable background in playing and coaching hockey.  Bobby grew up playing high school hockey in New Jersey along with multiple select teams throughout the country, where he earned an impressive list of achievements.  He became the 11th leading scorer in New Jersey, received the Jim Sullivan Award for top male athlete in the conference in three sports, earned 1st Team All-State three years in a row, and has had both his high school hockey and football jersey numbers retired.  He is being inducted into the New Jersey High School Hockey Hall of Fame in April, 2018 for his additional achievements at Brick Township High School.
After graduation, Bobby went on to play for the Hotchkiss School in Connecticut, and continued his hockey career at Quinnipiac University at the MAAC Division I level.  The Quinnipiac Bobcats won the MAAC league championships in 2001, and the team was later inducted into the QU Athletic Hall of Fame.  After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Bobby returned to New Jersey, where he began his coaching career.
Bobby began coaching for the Brick Hockey Club in 2005, and has coached every level of club hockey from Mites through Midgets since.  Bobby was also the head coach of the Jackson Liberty High School Varsity team, where he grew the program from a club to a competitive level.
Now that he has relocated to Massachusetts, Bobby is excited to continue his coaching career with the Northstars.  His coaching philosophy is one of discipline, hard work, integrity, and fun.  He believes strongly in skill development, and strives to coach every player to reach his or her fullest potential.
